After the metal deck is transported to the construction site, it may not be necessary to start construction immediately. First, the metal deck is stacked in one place, and it can be hoisted when needed. What should be paid attention to during the stacking and hoisting process?

Stacking and hoisting of metal deck

• The floor of the metal deck stacking area shall be basically flat, and the metal deck stacking shall not be too high. It is appropriate that each stack shall not exceed 40 sheets. Sling can be used for vertical transportation of metal deck.

• When the metal floor deck is transported to the site, it shall be properly protected from any damage and pollution, especially oil pollution. When the metal deck is temporarily stacked on the steel beam, it shall be dispersed to avoid concentrated load.

• Before hoisting, check whether the metal deck bundle number and hoisting position are accurate and whether the packaging is stable.

• Trial hoisting shall be carried out before hoisting to check whether the center of gravity is stable and whether the steel cable will slide. Hoisting can be carried out only after the safety inspection is completed.

• The metal floor deck shall be hoisted with special slings to prevent slipping. When lifting, each bundle shall have two lifting belts, which shall be tied at about one quarter of both ends.

• The principle of lifting materials from the bottom to the upper floor is adopted to avoid hindering the lifting operation of the next floor after lifting the upper materials first.
