Solideck beats Australian steel deck supplier on South American project. This project for the steel deck supplied by Solideck a few years ago. The customer is our long-term customer and has cooperated with it for 3 projects.

Project Status

We call this project the QC project, and the supply of this project will be completed on October 19. The detailed design and supply of the steel deck were all completed by Solideck, which still experienced many twists and turns.

When I started to deepen the drawing design, I found that the drawing was in Spanish. We are familiar with English. For Spanish, translation software may be needed. Comparing with English, relying on Solideck’s professional steel deck knowledge, we can understand the drawings and customer’s needs after one day, and we will make a quotation based on this.

Competitors

The competitor of this project is an Australian steel deck supplier. They have a long history and a famous name, and their customers actually belong to them. For Solideck, they are often encountered in the steel deck market, but in at least half of the projects we compete for, we beat them.

The quotations of the two steel deck suppliers were reported to the client. Although the client hoped that the Australian steel deck supplier would win the bid, their quotations were higher than Solideck’s, and they refused to carry out detailed drawing design in advance before winning the bid.

The customer was hesitant about the procurement experience, and finally the assistant to the general manager decided to let Solideck serve this project, because the customer had cooperated with Solideck for three projects, and the cooperation was very good during the period.The impression of Solideck is particularly good; but they have never cooperated with Australian steel deck suppliers, and they are quite proud.

Solideck’s work

In terms of detailed drawings, although Solideck has worked hard, there are still many difficulties, because the drawings are only simple requirements, and the detailed nodes and methods need to be determined by the steel deck supplier, of course, the specific ideas of the owner need to be considered. The Solideck design team kept communicating with the owner, and the owner’s ideas often changed. When a plan was finalized, it was changed within a few days, so that the Solideck design work had to be reinvented. Even so, the Solideck design team still met the customer’s value based on their requirements, and put forward constructive suggestions to the customer based on Solideck’s many years of steel deck experience. After two months, the client finally replied that the owner has fully agreed with our detailed drawings.

This drawing, Solideck design team also got a lot of exercise. They thought of problems that customers didn’t think of. This design not only requires the design of the steel deck, but also the design of the related steel structure and the concrete part. Although this is not the supply content of Solideck, for the operability of the whole project, the Solideck design team still gave the customer a deep understanding Suggestions, customers deeply agree.

Hard work always pays off. The customer gave us a project in the Middle East, and there are several other projects that are in the process of inquiry. Also, the European owners received our samples and materials and are very satisfied, and they are going to visit next month.
